Looking for a rooftop view? Visit The Attic Café and Bar.

Updated: Jul 5, 2020

There is nothing better than soaking up the sun in this scorching summer heat and enjoying delicious food while overlooking downtown Tampa.

The Attic Café and Bar is located on the fourth floor of the Scottish Rite building in the heart of Tampa that has an amazing outside balcony where you can see the city. This is a perfect place to grab a coffee, beer, or a glass of wine with a flavorsome pastry and meal. This cafe includes all beer and food products made from Tampa locals like Alessi pastries, Buddy Brew, and Cigar City.

But, the view of the city is not the only interesting piece to this café. The Attic has an industrial modern look that includes a bar, wooden tables, power strips that are aligned around the café for people to charge their electronics and sports illustrated magazines hung on the walls.

Every month the café displays 24 illustrated magazines that come from a local collector. Some of the magazines feature College Football, March Madness, and Sportsman of the Year. On one wall there is a large painting by Ferdie Pacheo that captures a scene during the 1927 World Series (Pirates vs. Yankees). Between the artwork and industrial style, The Attic creates a comfortable and fun experience for everyone.

The café is a perfect place to lounge and get some work done or even conduct business meetings. “We get them all. We get the business crowd, the regular locals that live around here,” said Chef Rosa, who was a private chef and has 30 years of experience.

On Sundays, The Attic Café and Bar hold events such as book launches, speakers for certain topics, and tech startup pitch meetings. “Being with different crowds and enjoying their music, their cultures, everything. I like that better than a normal day because it gives me that adrenaline rush,” said Chef Rosa.

Events are a great way to bring people together and enjoy the luxury of a rooftop view. Chef Rosa has the ability to prepare fresh meals for larger families as they celebrate together. The Attic has three separate menus: breakfast, brunch, and lunch with weekly specials.

“We haven’t been doing any events lately because of COVID but we do small events, we recently did a small baby shower not too long ago and a baby one-year birthday,” said Chef Rosa.

Despite the issues occurring in the world, Tampa locals continue to visit the café whether it’s for business, celebration, or a time for relaxation. This café offers more than just fresh brewed coffee and will have you coming back for more.

The Attic Café and Bar is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, visit their website http://www.atticcafe.net/ or call (813) 226-1003.
